Problems:

In the initial design sketch, the screen width of the mobile phone was ignored. If the page design is too small and the content is too much, the user experience will not be very good. At the same time, because this app has more functions, how to connect these functions without making users confused, and adjusting the logical relationship between the functions is relatively complicated.

User Testing Summary_

1. The body text is a bit small and looks a bit difficult. Hope it can be bigger.
2. The search bar on the homepage is not clear what can be entered. Need some hint.
3. The icons on the home panel can be expressed in a more interesting way and will be more powerful.
4. The two columns of the videos are too crowded and the content is hard to read.

5. It would be better if I can like and dislike the tutorial videos.
6. I think the functions on the home panel are a bit confused with the functions on the menu bar.
7. Hope that the video part has specific skills tips, and the map navigation part has information about each skateboard spot.
8. The map page can display a larger area, so there will be more choices for skaters.

Take Away

What I have learned

In the process of doing this project, I discovered the limitations of skateboarding applications and at present, there is still a lack of more professional and authoritative skateboarding mobile phones. At the same time, through this user interview and user test, I learned how to really help skateboarders. For example, they hope to set up a social media platform with a large number of users, to get to know more skateboarders, to meet and compete together, and so on. However, the number of users of the skateboard mobile application is very small. The utilization rate is still not popular enough.

Future

I still need to do more user surveys to help me better improve the interface interaction design and usability, so that users can use it more smoothly. Others I  want to get more data to help users develop better functions. Learn how to simplify the interface more and maintain the diversity of functions. Help users solve problems through design.
